Southern Services & Equipment, Inc. is a versatile, large capacity, full-service facility for steel fabrication, structural steel erection, precision CNC machining, forming, welding, engineering, design and support, prototyping, product assembly, painting, blasting and finishing, and quality measurement control. We also offer field welding services for on-site fabrication and emergency repair. SSE is certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) as a Certified Fabricator and Steel Erector, with an endorsement in Bridge Component Manufacturing.
Located in St. Bernard, La., a short distance from New Orleans, SSE maintains a 14,000 square foot metal fabrication facility, as well as a 2-acre blast and paint yard. Construction of an enclosed painting facility is currently in progress. Our heavy construction division has performed large contracts for repairs to the Greater New Orleans and SE Louisiana Hurricane Levee Protection System, pumping stations in Orleans and Plaquemines Parish, the Port Allen Locks and Calcasieu Locks, and flood control structures in St. Bernard Parish, as well as many other projects.

SSE is a minority-owned small business, certified as a DBE with the LA Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) and the Recovery School District (RSD). SSE is also certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s SDB Program.

SSE is certified with the Louisiana Unified Certification Program (LAUCP) via the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).
